Neo film school is organizing a script pitching festival season 2 for aspiring screenwriters. It’s a bridge to meet young writers and industry people who look for the story. Season 1 held in Taj Gateway hotel, Cochin on 3rd of September 2016. We have received 347 entries and 15 were selected for final pitch. 15 producers and 15 directors were present to hear the stories. Here comes the day to fulfill your dream as a screenwriter, A business meeting for your script.

What is script pitching?

If you have a story or a screenplay but, don't know how to get it into the right hands, this is an excellent platform to meet the producers, production companies, and directors. Pitching means, present your story verbally. You will be getting 5 minutes to wow the people in front of you. If your story is liked by any of the panel member (director, producer, company...) you will be invited by them for further meetings on your story. This will be a great opportunity to all the budding talents to sprout out in the film industry.

Who all can attend?
  • Anyone who has a Story or a Screenplay
  • If you are 18 years of age and above
  • Those who want their story to be seen to the world
  • Those who are willing to discuss your story in a panel

Entry Fee : Rs 500/-

Orientation fee (Those who shortlisted for next level) : Rs 750/-

Final pitch fee : Rs 1000/-

Responsibility of the NEO
  • Neo film school is conducting a platform for aspiring writers to share your story to the right people who may actualize it
  • Neo film school is not responsible for your next level meetings with your producer or company once we connect you with them
  • We will not be responsible for other story related issues, whatsoever
instructions
  • Primary selection will be based on the synopsis
  • Adaptation stories will not be considered
  • As a secondary selection process Neo will be giving an orientation session on pitching to the selected writers
  • Only those who are selected and have attended the orientation session will be eligible for final pitching
  • Each candidate will be given maximum 5 minutes to tell the story and next 5 minutes for the question answer session
  • The panel members are – Producers, representatives of production companies, Directors etc
  • We will not permit the directors to pitch their writer’s story. Only the writer can pitch , if the director and writer is the same he /she can pitch
  • If the story is written by 2 people or more, only one person can pitch the story others just can accompany
  • The stories must be original
  • Maximum 25 scripts will be selected for final pitching(decision of the panel in this regard will be final)
  • If your story is approved by any of the panel members, you will be invited for further discussions on your project
  • We will mail you an acknowledgement on receipt of your entry.
  • Academic Events: Convocation: One of the major events wherein all the course completed students are conferred the Diploma Certifications amongst the presence of the most respected film fraternity. Also the Neo achievements award and Master maker award and Innovators award is recognised and awarded.
  • Vidyarambham: Marks the auspicious beginning of new batch. This splendid event is made even more special by the presence of a chief guest from the Film Industry. Several cultural programs and inspiring speeches are some of the highlights of this event.
  • Semester Ending Party: It is the culture of Neo film school to identify the true talents of students and award them. This is done after every Semester.
  • Common Hour: Our students are generally given a platform to showcase their skills with respect to technical talk, Cine talk, photography contest etc which is witnessed during the Common hour, a program for the students, done by the students.
  • Onam, Christmas Events are celebrated with vigour and color.

Film Direction

A director of the movie achieves the fulfillment of a vision by managing the artistic and dramatic aspects of the movie. He needs to possess the ability to control the cast, production design and the creative aspects of film making. At NEO every learner is given the opportunity to do his own short films, ad films, music video, news story and video portraits. The NEO Film School conducts several events & workshops during the course duration, so also interactions with the veteran directors of Indian Cinema for building the next generation of successful movie makers.
